रेलमंत्री सुरेश प्रभु ने मंगलवार को शकूरबस्ती में हुई छह माह की बच्ची की मौत के मामले में रेलवे के ही पुराने बयान को दोहराया। लोकसभा में मामले पर जवाब देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि शकूरबस्ती में बच्ची की मौत रेलवे के अतिक्रमण हटाने के अभियान से पहले हो चुकी थी।
उन्होंने कहा कि शकूरबस्ती में रेलवे की संपत्ति पर अतिक्रमण कर रह रहे झुग्गीवासियों को कई बार चेतावानी दी गई थी। हालांकि रेलवे की कई नोटिसों के बाद भी उन्होंने वो जगह खाली नहीं की।
आप सुप्रीमो और दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के आरोपों पर सुरेश प्रभु ने कहा वे उनसे मुलाकात करेंगे और पूछेंगे कि अतिक्रमण के ऐसे मामलों से कैसे निपटा जाए।
इससे पहले रेलवे के अधिकारियों ने भी कहा था कि बच्ची की मौत का अतिक्रमण हटाओ मुहिम से कोई सरोकार नहीं है। रेलवे के एक अधिकारी ने कहा था कि अतिक्रमण हटाने की मुहिम दोपहर 12 बजे से शुरू हुई, जबकि बच्ची की मौत की सूचना साढ़े दस बजे आ गई थी।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि मुहिम से पहले झुग्गी वालों को तीन बार नोटिस दिया जा चुका था, इसके बावजूद वे हटने को तैयार नहीं थे। उल्लेखनीय है कि शनिवार को शकूरबस्ती में रेलवे की कार्रवाई के दरम्यान ही कथित रूप से छह माह की बच्ची रुकैया की मौत हो गई थी। कहा गया कि वहां मची अफरातफरी के कारण बच्ची की मौत हुई।
परिजनों ने कहना था कि गठरी के नीचे दबने से बच्ची की जान गई। आप मुखिया केजरीवाल ने मामले में हत्या के केस दर्ज करने की मांग की थी।
