फेसबुक आज बारह साल का हो गया। इन बारह साल में अपने उपभोक्ताओं को उसने वह दिया है जो दुनिया भर की पत्र-पत्रिकाएं सौ साल में भी नहीं दे सकीं। अगर आपकी मित्र-सूची सही है तो रचनाकारों और कलाकारों के लिए यह अभिव्यक्ति का बेहतरीन मंच है और पाठकों के लिए ज्ञान का अक्षय भंडार। एक ज़माना था जब लोग अपनी रचनाएं पत्र-पत्रिकाओं में भेजा करते थे। महीनों के इंतज़ार के बाद स्वीकृति या अस्वीकृति की सूचना मिलती थी। भूले-भटके महीनो और कभी-कभी वर्षों के बाद रचना छप भी गई तो पता नहीं चलता था कि किसी ने उसे पढ़ा भी या नहीं। आज हमने कुछ लिखा या हमारे मन में कोई विचार आया नहीं कि कुछ ही मिनटों में वह सैकड़ों, हज़ारों लोगों तक पहुंच जाता है। मित्रों की त्वरित पसंदगी और टिपण्णियों से प्रेरणा भी मिलती है और भविष्य के लिए दिशा भी। आपमें इसके सार्थक इस्तेमाल का हुनर है तो यह सामाजिक मंच आज आपकी रचनात्मकता, ज्ञान, संवेदनाएं, प्यार साझा करने और अनजान लोगों से जुड़ने का सर्वसुलभ साधन है। फेसबुक की वज़ह से हम सबका छोटा-सा परिवार बहुत बड़ा हुआ है। आप अकेले हैं तो यह मंच कभी आपको अकेला नहीं होने देता। मेरे लिए सबसे बड़ी बात कि इसने विपरीत विचारधाराओं और सोच के प्रति सहनशीलता, उदारता, धैर्य और दूसरों का सम्मान करने के अनमोल गुण सिखाए हैं मुझे। मुझे यह कहने में गर्व है कि फेसबुक पर आने के तीन साल बाद पहले की तुलना में मैं एक बेहतर, ज्यादा संवेदनशील, ज्यादा सहनशील और ज्यादा परिष्कृत व्यक्ति हूं। अपनी बेहूदगी, असहिष्णुता और मूर्खताओं से इस मंच को गंदा करने वाले मित्रों से यह अनुरोध है कि इसका इस्तेमाल अपने मन की कुंठाएं निकालने और दूसरों को खुद से कमतर, ज़ाहिल और मूर्ख साबित करने के बजाय अपनी रचनात्मकता, ज्ञान, अनुभव, प्यार और संवेदनाएं बांटने के लिए करें। आप ख़ुद को एक बेहतर इंसान महसूस करेंगे !
